I have always loved children and babies and trained as a Nursery Nurse before having my own family.

I have four children of my own, three sons and a daughter. All my births have been very different but positive, including having a premature baby. I've experienced both hospital and home births.

My interest in birth led me to train as an NCT Teacher over 9 years ago and I have worked with hundreds of parents, preparing for the arrival of their babies. I have also been an active member of my local NCT branch for many years.

I have good links with the local maternity units and have been very involved as a lay member, representing parents' views, on local maternity forums.

Prior to registering with Doula UK (the UK's largest Doula network), I attended the Nurturing Birth three day doula course (2005). Since then I have had the privilege of attended many births, all very varied and in different settings. I have also worked with several families postnatally, including twins.
