Why did I become a Doula?

Because I feel passionately about birth and parenting and would like to help more parents have a positive experience of birth and early parenting.

Having spent time with new parents, listening to their experiences, I've realised that many lack adequate support, confidence in their own abilities and feel bewildered by all the “advice” they are given.

As a doula, I can offer parents continuity, time to talk and listen to their concerns, and support throughout the antenatal and postnatal period, enabling them to relax and enjoy the transition to parenthood.

For me, being a doula is a vocation, not a job.
